PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Urethane or Acrylic Latex Porch & Floor Enamel - Your Choice!
- Urethane has a high gloss finish which provides easy maintenance in areas where excessive soiling occurs.
- Acrylic Latex dries quickly permitting fast recoat. It has a very low odour making it suitable for application in inhabited areas. Application tools are easily cleaned with water. The lower sheen of this product compared to Urethane provides a relatively non-slip finish.
Acrylic Latex may be used as a top coat or to freshen up decks or floor surfaces previously coated. The latex also has good adhesion to properly cleaned vinyl and fibreglass decks. Allow a minimum of 24 hours for foot traffic and 72 hours before placing heavy objects on the floor for both coatings. Neither product is recommended for garage floors where wheel traction can cause lifting.

SURFACE PREPARATION
LOOK AT HOW EASY IT IS TO APPLY!
Surface must be free of oil, grease, soap deposit and powdery residues. Existing glossy surfaces must be sanded to reduce gloss. Wash previously painted surfaces with TSP. Remove any moss or mildew with a bleach solution. Rinse and allow to dry. Remove any loose or flaking coating. Ensure any previous coating is adhering tenaciously. Smooth concrete surfaces should be etched with a Muriatic Acid solution and rinsed thoroughly. Ensure floor is free of moisture.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
For new concrete, vinyl and fibreglass, the most suitable coating is Acrylic Latex. On previously painted concrete, Urethane may be used if a higher gloss finish is needed. Two coats are usually sufficient. For new wood, either product is suitable. Both products may be used as self prime-thinning the first coat approximately 10% for better penetration. It is important to coat the underside of the wood used for stair treads or patios before construction. All end grain should be generously coated to prevent access of moisture. Caulk all seams and joints with paintable acrylic caulking.
